Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
EASE (“EASE,” “we,” “us”) operates an in-home massage marketplace that connects customers with independent, licensed massage therapists. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It covers both the EASE app (customers) and the EASE for Therapists app (providers).
EASE is intended for adults 18 and older. The service is not directed to children.
1. Information we collect
You give us:
- Account & contact: phone number (used for sign-in), name, email.
- Booking details: service address, scheduled time, session preferences, entry notes, in-app messages.
- Payments (customers): card/payment details are collected and processed by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
- Provider onboarding (therapists): massage license number, certifications, insurance, government ID, and information used for background-check and payout (bank/Connect) setup.
Collected automatically:
- Location: precise location to set the service address, match therapists to nearby jobs, and show a live arrival ETA during a session. Location is used while you use those features; you control permission in your device settings.
- Device & usage: device identifiers and push tokens (for notifications), app interactions, and diagnostics.
2. How we use information
- Provide the service: create bookings, match therapists, process payments and payouts, enable in-app chat, and show real-time tracking.
- Trust & safety: verify therapist identity and licensure, run background checks, power live trip-sharing and SOS, and review reports.
- Communications: send booking updates, security codes, receipts, and service messages.
- Improve and secure the service, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
3. How we share information
- Between customers and therapists: to complete a booking, a customer and the matched therapist see the information needed to do so (e.g., first name, service address, session details, ratings/reviews, in-app messages).
- Service providers: payment processing (Stripe), SMS/verification (e.g., Twilio), background checks (e.g., Checkr), identity verification, maps/geocoding, push notifications (Apple), cloud hosting and storage. They may process data only on our behalf.
- Safety & legal: with emergency-monitoring partners when you trigger SOS or share a trip, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
4. Payments
Customer payments and therapist payouts are handled by Stripe. Your card details are provided directly to Stripe; EASE receives transaction status and limited details (e.g., last four digits) — not your full card number. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
5. Your choices & rights
- Access / correct / delete: you can delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account), which removes or de-identifies your personal data subject to legal retention (e.g., transaction records). You may also contact us at the address below.
- Location & notifications: control these in your device settings at any time. Some features (matching, live tracking, push alerts) won't work without them.
- Marketing: opt out of promotional messages; you'll still receive essential service messages.
6. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents may request to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to limit certain uses, without discrimination. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, use the in-app deletion or contact us.
7. Data retention & security
We keep personal information as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax, and safety obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls); no method is 100% secure.
8. International users
EASE operates in the United States; information is processed in the U.S.
9. Changes
We'll update this policy as the service evolves and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
